PRO BONO WORK

At Fah Law Group, P.C. one of our founding principles is that everybody deserves justice whether they can afford the cost of seeking justice or not. Everyone has the right to an effective advocate. That is why we take our Pro Bono cases just as seriously as every other case we handle.

“Pro Bono” is short for the Latin phrase pro bono publico, which means “for the good of the people.” This refers to legal services performed free of charge or at a reduced fee for the public good. Pro bono cases and services leverage the skills of our legal professionals to help those who are unable to afford lawyers. In fact, the sixth amendment of The United States constitution guarantees free legal representation for criminal defendants when they cannot afford a lawyer of their own. However not everyone is entitled to free legal counsel. The sixth amendment does not provide free legal representation for civil cases. If you cannot afford a lawyer to represent you in court or during a negotiation, there is still another option: PRO BONO legal representation. Our attorneys represent clients free of charge when they choose to undertake pro bono cases. Over the past three years, the attorneys of the Fah Law Group have provided over 800 hours of pro bono legal representation. We help marginalized communities and underserved populations that are often denied access to justice due to lack of income. We also look to provide legal assistance to organizations that promote social causes. We do Pro Bono work in the following areas of law:

  • Family Law
  • Criminal Cases

  • Veteran Law

  • Landlord Tenant Disputes

  • Contract Disputes

  • Consumer Protection
